Essex County Fire & Rescue Service uses JCAD CORE for its risk management

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) is one of the largest fire and rescue services in the country, serving a county which includes Stansted and Southend airports, Harwich seaport, Lakeside shopping centre, power stations, docks at Tilbury and parts of the M25 and M11 motorways.

The Service is governed by Essex Police Fire and Crime Commissioner, Fire and Rescue Authority.

The last few years has seen a drive to improve risk management within the fire service, and enhance efficiency while maintaining a cost effective solution.

Essex County Fire and Rescue’s mission is to make Essex a safe place to live, work and travel. To achieve this, it is important that informed decisions are made quickly and effectively, with robust information that is up to date and easy to access.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has used JCAD CORE for the last seven years. The CORE risk management system allows all risks to be linked to strategic objectives,  providing greater oversight to the organisation.

The benefits of using JCAD CORE include:

  • Better informed decision making
  • Greater oversight and awareness of the risks affecting the organisation
  • Fully auditable solution
  • No limits to the number of control measures, triggers and impacts
  • The ability to set reminders for individuals to review risks
  • With all the information in one place, reporting is simple and accurate

Risk Advisor for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, Helen O’Sullivan, said:

‘In addition to the benefits gained from using the system, JCAD is always taking on customer feedback and continually develops the system to ensure that it continues to satisfy our requirements. They are friendly, approachable and always happy to help.’
